Do chalice corals truly encrust? I want to get a ceramic reef safe skull and put a rainbow chalice on it to hopefully fully encrust it. (Cheesy I know but I love the look of encrusted reef sculptures). Thanks

by truly do you mean do they attach their full skeleton to it or do they hover encrust over it like this is what you mean because they do both

edit just came up with a better example picture two

I kinda figured that. I just haven't found any of the other encrusting corals that I really like. I'm unsure of what kind of chalice the frag I was looking at is. It's a tiny piece of no name but gorgeous. So, there's no way to know until it grows out.

Do you have a picture? So if you put it on top of the skull it will either grow nicely all over the surface or will make a nice sombrero for your sculpture :)
