Hey all, getting back into the hobby after a 10 year hiatus.

I like to keep things simple and have always had great results dosing a 3 part regimine of Seachem additives: Reef Complete, Reef Carbonate, Reef Plus.

I see they're still available but know things have developed quite a bit since.

Anyone have something newer/better they're using as a 2 or 3 part regimine?

I've always been skeptical of the 1 part systems but also open to it if people have had some good results with newer products.

The "big 3" is still key - alk ca and mg. But once you tank stabilizes the MG decreases so slowly that I don't even bother testing for it anymore. - its something like 1/10 or 1/20 the rate of CA. So really the time consuming parts that I end up using an autodoser is just alk and ca.

As for other things - it depends on how much you plan to water change. If not frequently, then your eventually with have low trace elements. Different brands have different types but I use Redsea's 4part (ABCD) so I manually dose that + mg every couple of weeks

I use Seachem for 5 years now but use Fusion 1 and Fusion 2 to maintain CA and AlK, Seachem Aqua-Vitro Ions to maintain MG.

The tank looks great! The aqua vitro line was relatively new when I got out of the hobby but I liked some of those products as well. Never did make the jump up fusion though.

I'll have to look into the Tropic Marin All For Reef as blaxsun mentioned above too. I've heard that one come up a few times in my research so far.

I use Red Sea alk, mag and cal. Once I get my parameters to where they need to be, I dose 25 mil daily of tropic Marin all for reef to keep everything streamlined. Many ways to skin a cat now-a-days. :)

There's Randy's Recipes 1 & 2
Alk, Calc & mag.
Plus other trace elements
I've just started dosing using a Kamoer dosing unit in to a minireef 120 and my numbers are looking very stable now.
Previously I was doing single doses at the end of the day. Now dosing throughout the day.
Salinity dead level at 1.0264
Calc 420
Alk 8.1
Wishing I had started earlier

Ooo I like the idea of that. The one product maintenance dose sounds like my speed!
