Checking into having the tank maker do the install and plumbing and wanted to get some plumbing ideas to get a more accurate quote.

I have a 7' tank coming, 2 return pumps. I was thinking of a simple H piping for the returns and manifold. I'll be using adjustable DC pumps so I should be able to balance out pressure between both outputs but I just wanna check if some of you folks think this is typically reliable.

I'm thinking 5 or 6 ports for expansion.

I think I would run each pump on its own return. If one ever fails the water from one is going to flow backwards through the second pump that failed and back into the sump as water is going to take the path of least resistance. Unless you installed a check valve so the water can only flow one way. (assuming i'm understanding your plumbing correctly)

yeah... that's right. Another problem I overlooked. Thanks. I guess I'd have to use some way of isolating the two pumps between which is probably going to be more valves.

Although, what do we do if we continue to run the other pump when one has shut off? Wouldn't it siphon backwards down the other return line? I should have "siphon stopper" outputs but if the water line is kept above them by the other pump I'd just have recirculating water through the sump by a fair amount I'd think.
