cant seem to find a solid yes or no so can you add API erythromycin to fish food? i have some focus?

in theory you might be able to. if the medicine is meant to be utilized in the water column it would be difficult to calculate the dosage inside a food.

Ordered api erythromycin an got api fin an body cure. Is this the same stuff? It's 2 different meds erythromycin vs doxycycline hyclate imo. Both treat same issues.

Yes - Erythromycin can be used orally in fish. I have references that range from 25 to 100 mg/kg per day. Figure on 50mg per kg of fish biomass per day is about the middle (Noga 2010). The trouble is, you cannot just add some to Focus and then add some of that to food as you then have NO idea what your dose is. There are a couple of tools at the top of this section that will allow you to dose oral fish meds correctly, but I warn you, it is really complicated! The first is an article I wrote:

The second is the fish weight / food calculator that @threebuoys developed:

Nor treating anything Really. I'm out of the stuff. I normally mix gc or metro with my fish food. ( kinda like the aspirin a day theory because I feed fresh food. I mean you never know. If a parasite is in a mussle or clam.. Anyway its fish food making time? An im out of gc and metro so I'm pondering this. I may just go heavy on the vitamins this time with out meds An wait. I guess the person at Amazon who packed my meds knows better than me.. an I have not even meet them.. hahahahkno. GC an api Em seems to be hard to come by these days. Everyone is out of stock seems like.

honestly i think you'd be fine to feed fresh foods w/o meds. it might help pass healthy bacteria through the fishes' gut. i feed fresh all the time, no meds, no qt and my fish are thriving. and plus a mollusc parasite may not even be able to make the "jump" to a fish. but it is different in every system.

i'd stick to frozen food instead to avoid parasites if you're worried or buy pre-made blends like LRS which have active beneficial bacteria inside and if you want to feed fresh, just ditch the meds. if you must i'd wait til you get your regular meds.
