Hello friends its about one and a half year ive set up my ref.But since then i havent even take a look on it.
Now My tank has a problem.
I wanted to know if a ref sand need to be siphoned or not?

The matter is that cyano bacterias are bothering me.
I dont know whats the matter.
Every thing was ok last 3 months.
But little by little they came to the scene.
3 of my corals were destroyed although every thing was running the same as 3 months a go.
Water parameters are good no3 10ppm,po4 about 0 ca 440 kh9.5 (dont know the mg but think it must be ok)

water temp, salinity/ no3 seems a little high, IMO.

IF the sand bed in the refugium isn't being disturbed at all, that's not the problem IMO.

How deep is the fuge bed? Don't mean to contradict. But if its less than 3" I personally would vacuum it carefully. In that case there is not enough microfauna or anaerobic bacteria to complete the nitrogen cycle. 3" or more with no sandsifters or fish and I would leave it be. My personal opinion. Nothing more

Cyano can also be helped along by poor flow which might occur as pumps become dirty and clogged. So that's another possability

Its about 1 inch deep.and its just plants(no other things)in it

I personally would vacuum carefully so as not to cloud the tank too much. Once every week or two. But I'm not suggesting you do. Thats just what I would do. Maybe try to inceease flow first and see if that does the trick

I just get a big cuc team and a ton of tang - especially the kole tang, they even pick up my sand and grind for algea
