simple question on Salinity & PPT

In my opinion, any difference from our normal reef tank temps is so negligible that the specific gravity isn’t worth working about...now if you OCD, that’s another story:)
 
Thanks for the reply's . I'm really not ocd about any part of this salt enevour. As for salt content just needed a base to work from. I have always assumed they were the same just wanted to be sure.

My room is 10 degrees colder than my tank. 10 degrees will throw it off a bit depending on what you read it with and how it's calibrated.
It doesn't matter to my Pinpoint.
 
Ok checking in . I recently won the Hanna tester give away. The salinity meter wasn't calibrated & my refractometer was way off. So I calibrated the new hanna tester & my refractometer (spelling dunno.gif )
Anyway I tested a new barrel of water & got a 1.025 on the refracto & got a 34.2 on the new meter. Plenty close enough for me !
