Simple question.. Where to get good clean snails these days..?

Reputable company that has clean product ...
Not some company that has them in the same tank as the sick fish saying "they help clean/take care of fish"
Preferably captive bread but not required.
Willing to pay a little extra for that care and detail.

Good post. I’ve been wanting to know who sells fallow prepped clean up crews. Non prepped clean up crews are a vector risk, agreed.


it means any seller of non fallow prepped clean up crews is vectoring pestilence alongside decent algae removal, unless I‘m following the thought pattern wrong lol

(Jay H mentions them, anything wet from other tanks as worth considering for disease imports)


anyone selling specifically prepped clean up crew kits / long version fallow prepped / is on the cutting edge of disease control efforts.

Dr. Reef’s - their FAQ page says they QT their inverts in fishless systems for 76 days.

if not, huge disease risk. could lead to hundreds of threads mentioning disease losses after adding non fallow clean up crew kits so numerous, ten reefs can be given functional crews off one order


what if heavy loss fish disease for more than a decade is being vectored all over the place by judging a cuc quality order solely in terms of quantity and speciation. Disease risk prep needs to be the swing vote nowadays.

Reef cleaners has done right by me. Fishless systems, but not full QT. I haven’t had anything “sneak” in that I’m aware of.

I also have made many purchases in the past several years with no problems. As a matter of I just now made a purchase from Reefcleaners.

The Giant Knobby Creeper or Giant Nodulose Creeper, (Cerithium nodulosum) is the largest Cerith snail in the world. Growing to just over 4 inches in length, these snails fulfill the role of a conch and turbo snail at the same time. While they do not QT their inverts, they are held in fishless systems. I suppose anything is possible, but I have never had an issue with any order(multiple over the years) with inverts from reefcleaners.
