I'm trying to clean-up my controller cabinet and free-up some AC relay box ports. I have my controller's DC relay module (Reef Angel controller), and I want to move my equipment that is currently using AC to DC converters to the DC relay box. The Reef Angel DC relay box allows for 12vdc, but it is merely on/off (you can't regulate the DC voltage). My light fans are 12vdc, but the manufacturer of my light fixture (ATI) recommends running the fans at 9vdc to preserve them (the fixture comes with an AC converter where you can switch between different DC voltages). They also state that running at 10vdc would provide a little more cooling without significantly more wear and tear on the fans, but their converter doesn't offer 10vdc.
My question is, is there a simple device that would stepdown 12vdc to 9 or 10vdc that would go between the fans and a DC relay box port (e.g. fans plug into stepdown device then stepdown device plugs into a port the DC relay box), and that already has DC connectors (the type that plugs into most dosing pumps and pretty much everything I've seen that runs at or near 12vdc)? I no longer have any soldering equipment and don't want to go to that much effort to add connectors. Crimping might be an option if the crimping tool was pretty cheap.
