Hello all. New to the forum but have been in the hobby for a about 1.5 years now and upgrading from a 36g bowfront to a 75g with 20g sump. I am needing to get a skimmer. I have been looking around at skimmers in the 200ish range and was debating between the bm curve 5/7 and the simplicity 120/240. I’ve been leaning towards the simplicity skimmers as I like the price point with the dc pumps since I’m coming from a tunze comline 9004 doc that has a dc controller for adjustability. I’ll be transferring 2 clowns, diamond goby, fire shrimp, and a small frogspawn to start with. My question is would the Simplicity 240dc be too overkill? I would like to somewhat future proof the skimmer in case I ever decide to go to a 90g or so or a bigger sump or would the 120dc be fine. I don’t want to find myself in two years needing to upgrade the skimmer because I was to go to a slightly larger tank or as I add more livestock and increase the bioload. Any opinions appreciated! Thanks!

I use the 240 for a lightly stocked 180g so I'm guessing that the 120 would be fine for your 75~90g.

I would also be open to any other brands in that range if there is something better. I was looking at the vertex omega 150 that brs has.

I have a Simplicity 240 on my 120-gallon tank, a Simplicity 120 would work great on your 75-gallon tank.
