first time owning a dc controlled skimmer with adjustable air intake.

skimmer puts off a epic ton of microbubbles from the outlet of the skimmer which goes up into the display, (this drives me insane)
Ive got the pump on its lowest setting and air intake screw all the way in and backed out just enough to where it will foam , ive got the water level in cone right at the black ring where the cone and cup come together.
Skimmer is sitting in 8-9” of water.
ive even tried Putting a sponge under the outlet and that didnt help either.
Sump is a fiji cube 20.
Doesnt have a “bubble trap” like the trigger systems etc.

Anyone know how i can fix this issue before i toss it in the yard?!?

Is this a brand new skimmer? If so then it is breaking in, so I would remove the lid, open the skimmer all the way up so the water level drops.

This skimmer has been running over a week now overflowing into my sump with no lid. i personally dont think That has anything to do with why its pushing microbubbles from the outlet of the skimmer like it is. Ive never had a skimmer do this before.

It was running at 8”
I increased it to 9” earlier tonight.
i can see how much more i can drop it or either rise skimmer,
The manual called for 8-9.5”

I just got the 320DC almost a week ago. I feel your pain!!. These things produce A TON of micro bubbles and it seems like the skimmer body does not contain them very well. I currently have the pump at level 6 with the flow pipe arrow turned 180 degrees from the alignment arrow, and air intake at about 3/4 open (I ran a line outside and have a ball valve on it). I am finding that each day I am able to turn up the pump and/or open the air intake more. I feel like these skimmers just have a VERY long break-in period.

Have you found a fix for the microbubbles?

the skimmer is no longer overflowing like it did initially. think i am at the point i can adjust it and dial it in but these micobubbles have GOT TO GO!!

Mine seems to get better everyday. I think it is just a matter of time. I now have my pump turned up to 100% and have the air valve opened about 3/4 of the way. My micro bubbles have almost disappeared as well. All skimmers produce a TON of micro bubbles at first, but my Simplicity has definitely produced more than any other skimmer I have used!
