Hello guys just got my waterbox reef 130.4 filled up and was about to plug in return pump and I noticed simplicity sent me the wrong power cord for the pump... So now I am using a sicce 3.0 for now... Here a few pics.. Can I still start the cycle with the slower pump it's rated for 700 gph

That is the proper cord, it has to power the power supply which has a cord that goes to the controller. The AC/DC power pack goes between the 2 items shown.

Everything is good now I overlooked the power brick... Pump has been flawless so far same with 240 dc skimmer

Let me know how the Simplicity Pump 1600 works out. I’ve order that pump for my 120 gallon. I’m probably going to use another pump also since I have One 1” Return, that T’s off inside the overflow and Two more Separate 1” Returns. I did the math on my Weir Teeth, but I’ve been wrong on the flow before, so I‘m waiting to order a second pump.

I have a larger version and have been more than happy with it. Originally, about six months in, the pump started to have a noticeable hum. I cleaned it perfectly inside and out, but the hum kept getting louder. I emailed Simplicity and they replaced it no questions asked. They sent me a replacement and a prepaid label to return the original pump. They did ask for a credit card, I think they charged it $1 as a preauthorization and said that if the pump was found to not be defective, they would charge the card for the full amount. They never charged me and the $1 fee was refunded. Almost three years later, not a single issue…..knocking on wood. Great customer service. Getting a replacement BEFORE sending in for a warranty claim, is PRICELESS! I wish more companies would follow suit.

My pump makes a hum also and it's brand new... I contact simplicity and they sent a new pump and it still makes the hum.. But it's not really that loud... So decided it's most likely normal Sound... They even let keep the old Pump

Yeah, slight hum is normal for these. Not as loud as an ac pump, but not as silent as some other, much more expensive, dc pumps. Mine kept getting progressively louder. When I could hear it from the bedroom all night, I figured I’d return it. Replacement pump has been solid, and quiet.

RS Reefer xxl750, so 160g display, 40g sump. I have the 3200 pump as I have a manifold on the return feeding a chiller, uv, carbon, and a flush line back to under the Rollermat to keep detritus from building up on the sump floor.

Excellent! I suspected that was the case but wanted to be sure.

The 3200 has a much wider range of flow from the controller. If you did the math and you can handle more flow you might consider the 3200 simply because its almost the same amount of flow at the slowest setting as the 2100, however it is able to be much more flow.

This may help:

I purchased the Simplicity 1600 for my 120 Gallon. This pump is Super Quiet. The slight rippling of the water returning to the tank is noisier. Also my test drains are super quiet, I’m using dual 1-1/4” Durso, 1-1/4“ Socket X 1” socket reducer on SDR 21 pipe. Below Two Eshopps flex hoses. All has been Wife approved :)

Glad to hear it! Durso and Stockman standpipes are fantastic, especially if you can't do a Herbie overflow.

I don't know what an SDR 21 is however.

SDR 21 is a Thinner PVC Pipe, often used for Sprinkler Systems. Outside of the Pipe dimensions match Sch 40 and Sch 80. For gravity flow, you can move a bit more water, plus it's easier to cut.

Also McMaster-Carr has the PVC Adapters. “Standard-Wall Plastic Pipe Fittings for Water, Adapter, 1-1/4 Socket Connect Female x 1-1/4” BSPT Female.” Stock #4654N24

Thanks Steve, I always just called that Thin Walled, never knew the name!
So I am experiencing the same issue... only there was not a power brick in my box??? Is there anything you can do?

Hello WorldZY

This is likely the result of a retailer "borrowing" the power supply from the box. Please email us at [email protected] your full name, shipping address and proof of purchase so we can take care of it for you.

Cheers
Joel
