simplicity dc or reef octopus varios 6 ?

I want to hear people opinions on the simplicity dc pumps? I was looking to get a reef octopus varios 6 but now i am thinking bout the simplicity dc pumps? I can get 2 simplicity for the price of varios 6..

I have a Vario-6 and love it. Completely silent, very low heat build up. My only wish was that it had soft start. I had to program my Apex to do a soft start using ramp profile and virtual outlets. Take a look at the new Skimz pumps, they come with built in soft start and are at a price point between the simplicity and Vario. They do not however offer 0-10v apex control which the Vario does.

simplicity pushes more water at 2100 gph than the skimz.

I cannot speak to Simplicity but I'm very happy with my Varios6. Using it on Reefer 250. Dead silent with plenty of power and control.

Question for you guys, what does apex control as far as pump? just on and off? I won't be able to do the same with the simplicity pumps?

All pumps can be on off controlled by plugging them into an EB8, however the truly Apex compatible ones can be connected to the VDM port for 0-10v control which gives you fully programmable ramping capabilities.
