Single Bartlett's Anthias?

What are your experiences with keeping a single Bartlett's anthias as opposed to a school? I only have an appropriate tank size for one and I want to make sure it can adjust before I go and do it.

In my experience, a single is just fine. Bartlett's have a tendency to turn male and fight when in small groups, more so than other Anthias sp.

I bought 2 females and planned on getting a 3rd (male) when my lfs received one in. At first the two were all over the tank until one jumped out. She is now turning into a he but never leaves the corner unless I'm feeding or lights out. Yesterday I bought 4 chromis and now the anthias is schooling with them. He seems happier in a group even though there chromis lol

Was it the only fish in the tank after the other died?

No 2 tangs a wrasse 2 clowns mag foxface bi colored blenny and 2 damsels in a 150 g. He wasn't picked on by the other fish just hung out in his corner. Today was the first time I seen him on the other side of the tank in months

I had a single in a tank for two years and it did great, out and about all the time. I upgraded recently and added two more and they're getting along great also. So I say go for it. My single schooled with my clowns lol, she loved my female clown.

I was reading that Midas blennies will sometimes school with anthias. Maybe one of those would give the single a companion?

If my hopes come to fruition, though, it'll be a moot point because I'll have a 125g.
