So i bought a display tank from the lfs for 25$. Its a 40 gallon breeder and is glass. The skimmer is acrylic, and what I believe to be cut too low. I figure once I get this plumbing figured out, I can find another sheet of acrylic and extend the skimmer up a bit.
My problem lies in figuring out how to plumb this thing properly. Most all information I can find, has 2 bulkhead in the tank, and this only has one. I filled the tank to check for leaks, though I knew it wouldnt as I had seen the tank working just a few days prior. But the skimmer overflow box that's built into it is obscenely loud.
Currently I'm working on my final set up. The stand is being made from 1/4" angle iron measuring 2"x2". Its design will hold a 40gbr, but ultimately is being sized for a 90. My current non drilled 40br DT, will become the sump. This drilled one seemed like to good to let pass, but now I'm wondering if I wasted the money. Can this be plumbed properly and within reason noisewise?
I did search for quite awhile, and found nothing on single bulkhead plumbing, and plumbing a sump is something I've never done. Any info and pics showing an explanation of utilizing only one drain line would be helpful.
Thanks in advance
