I’ve had a pair of WC akindynos clowns now for about eight months and they are the only fish that have ever been in the tank. About two weeks ago I noticed the 5” females breathing rate was very accelerated and (only) one of her gills was flared. I did a 15 minute freshwater dip thinking it might be an early onset of brook...no change (and not brook). I’m now on the fourth day of a round of maracyn 2 thinking it might be some sort of infection from an unknown injury. So far no change. The gill looks as if it is swollen and almost protruding from the underside.

Both clowns eat well, swim well, interact accordingly. I’ll try to get some pics/video at some point. I’m really at a loss and would appreciate any help.

Thanks, Chris

Sorry to hear, get some pics and short video up asap, then we can call in experts to help.

Is this in dip ? video of fish breathing is what is needed, would wait a lil while after handling for video .

Yes, she’s in a dip. Her breathing is rapid all the time. I’ll get a video tomorrow. Posting it seems to be the problem since you can’t see the one I already posted.

was able to see when 1st posted ,but now cannot ? not sure why either

I could see the video. Yes, one of the fish swimming in the tank is what would help me.

Here is what I see so far - the gill material is swollen and light pink (should be dark red). That indicates anemia, but I don't know why it is swollen like that on just one side.
