I am trying out a single Maxspect Gyre XF350 unit and I am wondering how other people are running them? Are you using it in manual Gyre mode? What are your ramp up and down times?

I have been playing with settings for over an hour and I can't seem to get it working the way I want. Maybe its because I am going from dual WAV pumps that were kinda giving constant flow and I am used to seeing the pattern a certain way.

Any help on this would be appreciated!

Thanks

I have the icecap 1k in my wife's tank. I use in in alternating flow pattern. 30 mins forward, then 5 mins backwards. Seems to do the trick and keeps bubbles from getting into the turbines

Does this still produce the “wave” effect or is it more of a static flow?

How long is your tank, what kind of flow are you looking for? I have played a lot with single and dual gyres.

Here, check out this post by @pelphrey. He does a great job explaining it although it is on a different model. That won't matter but they raise some outstanding points about new tank, old tank, maturing, etc. The Gyre's are great products and provide a lot of options to move water. However, the big catch is the overall tank maturity level which by that I mean coral growth.

The display is a little funky size wise (32” Long x 22” Deep by 30” Tall). I am not sure what type of flow honestly, was thinking wave style but open to any recommendations. I am finding that flow is really difficult on a smaller tank

Thank you for that. I am going to watch the videos now!

There is a lot you can do with the different modes, how high or low you place the gyre, and rotating the cages.
