Single higher flow Gyre or 2 Wavemakers with less flow

Looking for thoughts on a single 2000gph gyre vs 2 800-1100 gph wavemakers in a 40 gallon breeder. Pro's/cons of both and how much flow I should maybe look for total.

What’s the plan for corals and rock work? Will it be pretty open or will there be areas behind the rock work for things to settle? If you don’t need crazy flow a 2k gyre style pump should be sufficient.

I haven't fully settled on what I'm doing as I have the rock coming in now. I wasn't trying on doing a full rock wall but plan on having area's in front and behind the rock.
