I am wanting to put a couple Davinci clowns in my 75. My question is since I plan on having 2 do I need to do it as a pair or is it OK to put one now and introduce another later? Just want to do what's best for them. These guys are a little pricey.

Either way may work but I think your odds of success are higher if you introduce them simultaneously.

i would recommend getting a pair that is already together and getting along well, otherwise you are taking a chance. having the one smaller increases the odds, but still far from a guaranty they will get along. it is pretty much hit or miss, and it bites when you are paying for designer clowns and trying to make pairs. i tried 3 times and only ended up with one pair that i would consider bonded...

I don't have designer clowns...I had added 2 at the same time...the smaller one got beaten up by my bluegreen chromis and passed. So we added a second clown, making sure it was much smaller than the one already in the tank. That worked well...but again, might not.

That's good to know. I was going to put 3 blue/green chromis as my first fish but, I may have to rethink that. Might be a little mad if a $7 fish kills a $125 fish.
