Single overflow 180 gallon....

Just picked up a 180 gallon. The overflow only has one drain hole and one return hole. The bulkheads are 1.5” but the return is reduced down to 3/4... the drain was left at 1.5”. They used a piece of pipe and cut grooves in it all the way down... should I just use this or make something else?

I have a single overflow on my 120-gallon tank, only one hole in the overflow, the return is through the bulk heads on the sides of the tank, I have to use a Maggi flow, they cannot handle a lot of flow, so you may be able to modify yours to use both holes for a overflow.

I just don’t want to route the return over the side/back . I have no other bulkheads

I only have 1 over flow ( 1.5” on the side of my 230

there is 2) 3/4” hoses from my return pump supplying water to the dt .

Sea Swirls are really nice, no need for bulk heads. I would get a DC pump for your return so you can match the return.

You are wanting an overflow kit.
Usually comes with the overflow box. Bulkheads. Drill bit. And a template.
You might need to buy the box seperate. Just 3 beads of aquarium silicon and let dry.

I'd like to see pictures too.

My guess, without seeing pics, is that a good solution will be to turn those two holes into a Herbie and run a return or two over the back of the tank.
