Single white spot on hawk fish

Wondering what this single white spot on my hawk fish is. I’m talking about the gill. All other white spots are on the glass. I think it’s been there a while it’s just got bigger and noticeable now.

He’s eating and breathing normally.


And yes I know I have a cyano infestation I hadn’t had time this week to clear it out. Maybe that’s contributing to the white spot?

I doubt the cyano is related.

Could be Lymphocystis.

Yea that’s what I suspect but have no experience with that.

Not sure about lympho but can be a grain of sand or a small nick. Im thinking sand.
See if it is still there in the morning

I was hoping that at first but It almost looks like a shiny little bubble. Been there for a while and I think it’s gotten bigger over months.

If in form of a bubble may be a cyst
