So my singularia has been doing pretty well for a while. However while most of the time the coral is doing well I have noticed that the trunk seems really weak and is unable to support the top half making it always bend and scrape the rock. It sits about 16inches under a Kessil a160. Nitrates sit around 6 alk 10.2 and calcium 1410. The parameters stay pretty consistent. My question is what could be wrong with the trunk of the coral and is there anything I can do to correct it?

This was after the light had been off a bit but the base kind of looks like that all the time.

Usually they are fast growers. Mine has been. With the right water, light and flow they grow quick.

Mine sits in the upper half of the tank probably about a foot and a half from the light, what kind of flow does yours go under? Mine sits in a mild flow area

Mines always been like that, especially when closed. Had it for well over a year now, and it has grown huge from a tiny frag to my biggest coral. It’s in the back there.

The level of floppiness comes and goes based on how it’s feeling.

would you recommend more flow? I don’t think lighting is the issue unless it’s too much and the tank is pretty stable. My only thought is it’s not getting the flow if needs?

I wouldn’t worry about raising light yet, you don’t want to damage other corals. Instead I’d move the coral up in the tank to a higher flow and light area.
More than anything, leathers are tough and adaptable, even if you did nothing it would find a way to thrive.
