...and then melted in my hand. Is this the famous brown jelly malady? Another had some blackish stems. Cut them away and the trunks are regrowing stems and branches.

Bj doesnt usually attack leathers....sometimes they shade themselves out depriving themselves of flow and go down quick from there. Fragging the good parts is your best bet. And maybe add more flow.

No, a well developed monster sinularia. The survivor, I just scissored off the black leaving cucumber sized stalks that are regrowing quite well.

Woe, I killed an almost bulletproof coral.
