Eunicella tricoronata, any one with any experience or even heard of one or have any info at all. I saw one at an lfs, they had no idea how to take care of one, they were even confused at what it even was, funny thing I saw one at another lfs that was identified as a fire coral.

I did finally find out that it is a filter feeder, as I was interested in it for my NPS tank. So I'm figuring that means lighting requirements are likely a non issue, as this tank is low light.

My one concern is temperature, the only info I found, the temp was in the 60s, so I would think a tropical tank would be a no go.

Typically called Hydro Coral here in California.. it does indeed require MUCH colder waters than our tropical reefs.
I have seen it many times off the coast here. Water temps in the high 50's to mid 60's..
Its something better left in the ocean unless you can meet the specific requirements

If you are talking about a stony coral called a hydro coral, this is not the same thing. This is a gorgonian, but my research does still point me towards a cold water tank.

I know these as "Lace Coral". I hear they're very difficult/impossible to keep long term. If they're cold water no wonder they don't last in our tanks.

/Another thing tempting me to do a cold water marine tank!
