I currently have no nitrates or phosphates and my last tank I ended up starving because it was too clean so I don't want to do more water changes than needed.
However I don't want to leave the sandbed to build up nutrients.
Instead could I siphon the sandbed into into the filter sock then simply change the sock right away to remove whatever I siphoned out?
