Siphoning sandbed

Does anyone have a good siphon that doesn't suck out sand? Am i just doing it wrong? I need to get the fish poop at the bottom but i'm taking out the sand as well.

When doing the sand bed I let the sand come up about halfway up my sphion then I start to bend the tubing to slow down the water so that the heaviest sand falls back down and then I’ll open the flow back up and repeat. Also if you go from holding the siphon vertical to somewhat horizontal the sand falls down faster

I always end up with a little amount of sand and detritus in the bucket but only really fine grain and not that much
