The siphons have come a long way in the last 50 years or so. My dad used a piece of regular ol' garden hose when we first got the bug.

What piece of equipment are most people using these days to expedite water changes and possibly reducing the amount of dirty saltwater being sloshed out of the bucket on the way to dispose of it?

I just use an Aquarium siphon/sand vacuum and drain to a either a bucket or a larger brute container. Then pump the dirty water out and the new water in. A Mag 7 and a long hose to move water. I had some 1/2" Polyflow tubing laying around that works well for the long hose part.

I use one of the python gravel filters that has a self starter so not get mouth fulls of nasty water and then I got buckets with lids from Home Depot so they don't spill when I carry them. Low key and low spillage.

I have a python no suck as well into five gallon Home Depot buckets and I have a 32 gal with a return pump that put water back in

Maxijet 1200 connected to a hose. Straight from the sump to bucket. Then put it in my brute back into the sump.
