question, can i make a bag with netting mesh and just fill it up with siporax rings and add to my sump???

Well for denitrification mostly. I just dont have enough live rock in my new system so i got some siporax from a reefer who wasnt using it. So now i wnt to know if its okay to make a basket with eggcrates and just fill it
Up.. like in the pic to the right

That can probably be useful if there is reasonable flow around that sump.

So without flow in there the siporax is pointless??
