So it just so happens that I am in the middle of restarting a little 20 gal. in my son's room. So why not see if we can win something in the process!!

What we have so far.
20 gal. walmart tank
30 lbs. of Fiji live sand
25 lbs. of bleached dry rock
Hang on the back 14 inch refugum with protein skimmer powered by a ex250 power head.
ebay digital thermometer

What we need
Heater
Hydor Koralla Nano 425 power head x2

So I added water and sand on 4-30 and added the rock on 5-15. I also put a few bio ball I had in my 125 gal reef for about 2 months to help seed the tank. In this tank we are going to keep some sps, lps, and softys, so basically a mixed reef. I do have one quick question, do you think two nano 425 power heads will be to much flow? Well anyway here are a few pics. I know how we all love pics!

Here are a couple pics of my wife and son reading one of is favorite books and enjoying his tank right before bed. This tank makes an awesome night light with the led moon lights.:bounce:

Nice looking setup, can't wait to see how it turns out.

I, on the other hand, should probably get working on mine, haha.

Nice build so far and love the aquascape. What a cool addition to your son's room!

Very nice and what a great picture!

Nice start to the tank, like the way the rock work looks. Great addition to your son's room :D

I have been thinking about doing the same thing in my sons room. Great idea
I have to tell you it is really nice to have it in his room. One the moon lights double as a night light and two the fan in the light gives off just enough noise to be like a little white noise to help him go to sleep + My TV is right under his room and it helps droned out any noise from that while he is trying to sleep.

So not to much to report at the moment but the ammonia is 0 ph 8.5 alk 11dkh sal. 1.025 no2 0.05 no3 0 cal. 480 mag 1470. I also set the top of the skimmer on the hang of the back skimmer/fuge last night and it is going crazy. Looks like it should be ready to go around the start I hope.:clock:

Looks great, I cant wait to see pics when you start adding livestock

It's weird, when I test my 125 dt it reads 10-11 dkh just how I like it. Just 3 days ago it tested 11 dkh on this nano tank as well and then all the sudden it took the 14 drops. I wonder whats up?

Test your water change water before yo add it to your display...possibly it's high in doh right off the bat. Mine raises here and there for unexplainable reasons, then I do a water change( using oceanic salt mix) and its right back to normal. I know certain salt mixes are a tad high to be able to replenish a tank thats low. If your tank is not using any at the moment due to not having any livestock, it will stay high until you do add livestock...just my idea!

I have gotten a little side tracked as of late.(car shopping) But we found a new car:whoo: so now I can get back on task. Well anyway here is my empty nano pic.
