I have had my tank running for almost a year now and have had a 6line wrasse for 6 months in there. I recently bought a Carpenter wrasse after reading they wouldn’t be aggressive with one another and asking the employees at my local fish store. The second I put the carpenter wrasse in after acclimation they began fighting and didn’t stop for about 30 min I then turned the light off to try and calm them both down anyone have any recommendations on what to do or why they are being so aggressive towards one another? They are the same size and the carpenter is a male I’m not sure about the sex of the six line wrasse?

Unfortunately, Pseudocheilinus wrasses are typically incompatible with any other wrasses. More here:

The six line is probably just being territorial. They tend to be this way over any type of new edition. I had this happen whenever I added a fish to a tank with my sixline. I got rid of my sixline because I was annoyed by it. They are not the most prosocial fish.
