I've had him around a week now, he's been doing great so far.. Except this morning. I found him laying on his side between two of my LR and he has this reddish patch on his side. I haven't changed anything in my tank or added any new livestock.. Anyone know if he's going to survive whatever happened?

Sorry to hear that, that always sucks. What kind of crabs are in there?

that almost looks like it could have been bacterial, kinda reminds me of what the chromis I lost to uronema looked like..

I’m by no means an expert however. Let’s get @ReefSquad in here for some more experienced opinions
 
Emeralds are usually safe with fish but you can never really trust a crab. With hermits some types are safe some aren't.

I will add that when a fish is sick or injured it is my opinion that netting them for pictures, ext is very stressful and counterproductive (of course sometimes it's necessary for treatment)
 
Sadly I honestly thought he had kicked the bucket when I first got him out, then I realized he was still breathing.. Would've felt a bit bad leaving him to be crab food
