Six line Wrasse nipping at coral?

I just got a new torch coral green with pink tips. I dipped the coral before introducing and as soon as I put it into the tank my Six line started nipping at it. Are there worms or things that he is picking off or is he attacking the coral? Please let me know as I do not want to stress out my new torch TY!

Pod/pest hunting wrasses like sixlines will peck at anything new in the tank. My Halichoeres wrasses always thoroughly inspect anything I put in, often pecking at whatever they see. They usually stop after a few minutes.

Never ever heard of a wrasse eating coral. There's either something on it or it's curious. If there's no visible damage there's nothing to worry about anyways.

My sixline in my evo is a model citizen, except when he sees a bristle worm under a frag on the rack. He will knock stuff over to get at a worm.

Your sixline is probably just enthusiastically ridding your new torch of pests. It’s possible it could stress or accidentally injure the coral.
