OK, so I am fighting a zoa-eating nudibranch infestation. Over a week, I could not find Bayer (it's illegal to sell in NY) and no place would ship to NY either. All LFS does not have Flatworm Exit.

So, I gave up and got a 6-line wrasse instead of ordering online. I know there's a love/hate relationship with these guys. I've had one before and he did very well with my clowns in a 28g for a year, until he perished when I had a mini crash in my tank. I probably got lucky with this one.

I didn't do a thorough research.. all I know is 6-lines work well with getting rid of pests in tanks and I was advised by several people to get a 6-line for my nudibranch problem. I even told my LFS that I was planning on a wrasse dominated tank- he didn't say anything (and he's usually very good and knowledgable.. they've never steered me wrong)

So.. I bought one.

Then I realized, upon reading more about them, they don't do well with other wrasses. I was planning on a wrasse dominated tank and I have 2 currently in QT -Red-head Solon and Exquisite.
Yea, it was an "ah crap" moment.

Right now, my 6-line is in my 28 gal, hopefully to get to work to clean the nudibranches.

All fish will be going to 75 gal tank when they're ready.

I'd love to keep the 6-line.. I want to give him a fair shot to see if he'd control his aggression.
Should I keep him in the 28 gal and add him last to the 75 gal tank?
Or should I wave the white flag early and return him to the store for credit?

I am planning on breaking down the 28 gal tank, so keeping it forever for him is not an option.

Or am I reading too much and having a mini-panic over nothing?

any other advice to make this work in the 75 gal tank?

I called the store manager and explained the situation. at first he insisted they only go after other lined wrasses. When I told him I wasn't risking it, he agreed to take it back and give my cash back. When I got there, he said he spoke to his boss, and his boss explained to him that the six-line is very territorial and should be added last.

He learned a lesson about six-lines and I am glad to help give him that lesson!

In addition, he was using his phone to look up info on the wrasse when he sold it to me. I told him do not rely on what one website says, go to user experiences and he agreed.
