Came home to find my six line wrasse on the bottom of the tank dead. he was surrounded by my staghorn hermit, red legged hermit and a bumblee snail. the staghorn was munching away:( he showed no signs of distress at all. yesterday he was his normal self. flying out of rockwork and eatting mysis. i see zero signs of any distress in other fish. i have a longnose hawkfish, midas blenny, PJ cardinal, dottyback cardinal, purple firefish and a blue/green chromis. inverts i have cleaner shrimp, blood shrimp, 15 or so snails, emerald crab, staghorn hermit and 3 red legged hermits.
ammonia - 0 (API)
nitrite - 0 (API)
nitrate - between 2 ppm and 4 ppm (red sea)
temp - 79.2
alk - 9.2 (red sea)
is it possible one of my hermits got him? you'll see the chunk out of the bottom but that was where my staghorn was eatting him.
