I bought this 1.5 inch Flame Angel 2 days ago and its being harassed by my sixline. The flame angel has been hiding behind the rocks not eating and does not want to come out at all.

Any suggestions what to do? Will the flame angel be fine after sometime and the wrasse will get over it and stop or does one have to go. PITA thinking of how am I gonna get the sixline out of the tank.....

All too often this is the case with sixlines. It may get better over time, but they have quite the reputation for being jerks to new fish.

is it ha-WRASSE-ing it?
I'm sorry carry on

My sixline is actually pretty well behaved, and for me it was the other way around.
If the sixline doesn't stop you might need to take it out, I got my flame angel out by tearing apart the tank, but that's no the most viable method.
Your LFS might sell fish traps, that could be of use. This is all if it doesn't stop harassing it.

Those sixlines can be brutal. If you feel the angelfish is in mortal danger, You can DYI a fish trap. catch the fish and put it in a acclimation type box and rerelase it when flame is eating and doing better. I'd give it a few days first.

My 6 line is usually ok with new additions but when he is not they get bullied to literally death if i don't remove the newbie. If you ever watch south park 6 lines are like Scott, and we all know what Scott is...

Thats exactly what the sixline is doing. It has been extremely aggressive just whipping and pushing the flame angel pretty hard. Mean littke bugger.

Flame angels are usually pretty tough and quick its weird that its allowing it. Are they similar in size? And 90 gallons should be enough room for them to stay away from each other. I think you just have a Scott for a six line and kind of a pansy angel :(

Got home for lunch but too late. I found the angel floating. Poor little guy. The angel was the same size as the sixline. Small size. Ill probably pick a medium sized one much bigger than the sixline. Do you guys think it will be the same problem?

Shouldn't be if he's bigger or Scott will bite off more than he can chew and change His mind

the thing about 6-lines is as we all know they are bullies, but they are more of a bully to any fish added to the tank after them. I bought one and added it to my 29g biocube and he is a model citizen, but he was also the last fish added. I have a black and white clown, occ clown, green clown goby (thought he would get killed by wrasse but living strong out in the open), and a Midas blenny. Some people recommend removing the wrasse from the tank and adding the new fish giving it time to acclimate to your tank for a few days and then add the wrasse back. Changing rockwork also helps. But there is no guarantee with these fish. Sorry for the loss

I would nuke it I hate those things.

Ya I just got rid of my six line, it ate my cleanup crew.

Awesome! Even shy ones?

just starve the fish part of the tank for 2-3 day and you'll catch most of the tank in 30 minutes
