Skimmer acting funny

I just picked up a bubble magus 3+ last Monday and it took about five days to break in. I started to adjust it a little but I can't get back to working.
Last night I picked up a filter for my sump return pump to stop junk from going back into the tank.
Now I'm getting a ton of micro bubble from the adjustment tube which went away after the first few days. Could the filter cause this? Also I had it in about 8.75 inches of water I put it in 7.5 now.this thing seems to be a pain to adjust just hope I didn't make the waste of $ purchase. I can get pics/vid if needed. Thanks

It very well could be the sponge you added to your pump. I have seen skimmers to crazy when adding a brand new not washed filter sock. I suspect that the brand new sponge could do this as well.

Sounds like the filter is clogging up the intake suction of the pump, remove the filter and see if there are more bubbles.

I'll give that a shot. Open to ideas. Never has an in sump skimmer before not sure how they react to adding new things.

Its more than likely the sponge. Skimmers act funny when adding new materials to.tank Give it a few days and shoukd be fine.

That's what I was thinking. I got the sponge Monday and its been giving a lot of micro bubbles. Today it seems less so ill see if I can adjust it some to get it to work. Thanks!
