Hello
I need some skimmer advice I have a heavily stocked 90 gallon reef tank with lots of sps and a heavy bio load was just wondering what skimmer that is out there would be good for the tank I have a 30 gallon sump as well any advice or reccomendations would be great
Thanks

Lots of good skimmers out there these days....just a little easy to over-pay sometimes.

IMO, do not pay extra for weird shapes or colored plastics, for example. Cylinders or boxes are the most space-efficient shapes. Things like cones are relatively smaller and require more height to keep the same volume and footprint as a similar cylinder, for example.

An AquaC EV-120 would be a great skimmer....similar to the (older) EV-90 I ran for a long time and still have. Should be easy to find used too.
I'm currently running a Tunze 9410 and that would also be a good choice for you. Similar performance as my EV-90, but only 15 watts and much quieter. (I think the EV-120's are a lot quieter too though.)

Just a couple suggestions - good luck!

Thanks
I was also looking at the bubble Magnus curve 7 or rlss 6i anybody have input on these

If those are the choices then go with the RLSS-6I, the L/H Air intake (900) smokes away the Bubble Magus (L/H 520)

Thanks for the replys I like them all i just don't know about the controllable pump in th rlss is it needed right now my budget is around 500 anybody here use the rlss skimmer

Reef Octopus I have always used them and they are great! Start skimming immediately, esp on a tank like yours that is already apparently set up and established with out a protein skimmer. Unless yours just recent quit on you I would have recommended having been running a skimmer since set up :).
