I'm looking for a skimmer for my 350 build mixed reef. I was looking at the AquaC EV-1000 seems good for a decent price anyone have experience with these?

I've owned some Aqua C, I've also had some Deltecs, Bubble King, Euro-Reef, ASM, ATI, Tunze, Ice Cap, and a Skilter way back in the day. Currently I run a Tunze and I'm thrilled. Like all Tunze products they run forever. Their service is top notch but more importantly, no one ever really needs it. Should something ever go wrong you don't have to worry about parts as they're readily available.

I think Tunze skimmers tend to be really utilitarian and since they aren't "sexy" don't get the attention NYOS and the rest of the skimmers going down that path take. My 9410 pulls almost as much air as my old Bubble Master 200. It's an air cannon. It's also pretty bulletproof. That being said any skimmer will perform about the same as any other skimmer. I went Tunze for the reliability, parts availability and the design is pretty brilliant.

350 liters or gallons?

If liters then many needle wheel smimmers would be just fine. Tunze are solid as are many others.

If gallons which I assume it is considering the skimmer you mentioned I much prefer what I call classic work horse type skimmers. The Aquac EV series being one of them and the 1000 with a much stronger then recommended pump would do the job.

Other options I like are Lifereef skimmer and MTC Beckett or Mazzei injector skimmer. I like the MTC design better myself. If you can go external Jeff at MTC can make an external dual venturi beast as tall as you want. 48" to 72" fairly standard.

I have a MTC MVX 36" on my 180g and have done a lot of tinkering with it which is another advantage of these types og skimmers. You are not locked into one setup or pump like a needle wheel skimmer.

My "review" thread on the MVX.
