I currently have a co2 scrubber utilized. But really wanting to do a airline outside. I know I need to go big on this since there's a distance. My problem is drilling a inch hole in the siding. Looking for ideas that might work. I thought a small tube like a 1/4in diameter tube to the out side but on the inside running to a larger tube the that large tube through the ceiling of the basement and then right into the air intake of the skimmer. I might be able to go a little bigger that a 1/4in tube but not much more. Thou g.j has please.

What skimmer are you plumbing this to? You need a serious pump to pull air long distances and have everything work like normal.

My PH rose very slightly and stabilized. That was all I expected to happen. I have lots of things breathing in my house in the winter.
The inlet size for air on my skimmer is about the same as yours. I chose 1/2 inch PVC so it wouldnt restrict it over the distance and reduce the air. Plus it was cheap and easy to work with. It might seem silly but I picked up stuff I had laying around and blew through it with my mouth. 1/2 inch PVC flowed freely so I went to Home Depot and got more and used it. It also greatly reduced the noise.

Wow good to know! Do you have any pics of where your skimmer connects to this pipe or how did you make a vacuum with the skimmers air draw hose.

I would love to see some pictures when you get a chance. If I go by my steps heal to toe. im looking at about 25 feet. In hopes it would raise my ph atleast above 7.8. keep it steady between 7.8 and 8.0 ppm.

I had a skimmer hose that ran over twenty feet in length. No noticeable effect on skimming performance. You could probably pinch a skimmer hose off half way and it still wouldn’t have a negative impact.

I used the standard size skimmer intake hose. Think its 3/8" I have a diablo 200 int skimmer with the sicce pump. I was running 7.4 ph all the time. I got a 15ft length of hose from brs (the white colored flexible silicone hose) ran it up out fo my sump behind the tank and down into my basement and out the wall.. my ph is always 8.3-8.4, worked like a charm. And didn't affect the skimmers ability one bit.

Not much to see. 1/2 inch PVC water pipe. It goes behind the tank to the fish room, up the wall, across the ceiling and exits at a hole I made in the ceiling of a covered porch outside. At the tank I have two barb fittings to attach short pieces of soft tubing to the skimmer muffler openings. It's a Reef Octo 152-S That has the 2 opening inlet muffler. I didn't bother to glue the pipes.

The skimmer pulls air through the tube.

I was looking for a spot where maybe I wouldn't have to drill. looks like I could possibly get by with pulling the tubing where my dryer exhaust goes out to the outside of the basement to under my desk. but that leaves a problem if that would be wise at all. might be able to pull a half inch tubing from skimmer to the outside but not sure if the distance would have a major performance issue with the skimmer.

Dont share the dryer vent hole
1. It gets hot
2. You can suck Lint into the skimmer
I was looking around and think if the soft run works and maintans the PH. then ill do a hard run towards the back of the house and have it go right next to my electrical box for the air conditioning. it's high enough to where I don't think water will get to it. by water I mean when it rains like super extremely hard the whole neighborhood gets flooded. the front and sides and backs of housed and drive ways and streets look like small rivers with very strong currents. so that's another issue I am dealing with if and when I do the airline to the outside.
