Skimmer and Return pump

I have a redsea Max e 170 and got the Trigger System sump and looking to upgrade the skimmer and return.

Looking at the Reef Octopus 110 SS skimmer

Pump looking at either Sicca Syncra Silent 2.0 or 3.0 not sure; I don't like Mag because of noise and possibly heat issues.

Suggestions?

Can't go wrong with the Sicce pumps...uber quiet. They don't get a lot of love, but take a look at the Bubble Magnus Curve 5 skimmer. Great little skimmers and they won't break the bank.

I can second bubble magus. I use the curve 7 in my Reefer 525 and love it. Was a little weird with the break in, but other than that, it's pulling loads of dark gunk out.

I got the Deltec Sc 1351 heard nothing but good things and got it at a good price well I think anyways lol

A Sicce 2.0 should be plenty. I’ve got one on my 40 gallon and it’s plenty and then some. It can easily handle my sump even when the ball valve is fully open.

I had that skimmer in my previous tank, not bad at all.

for return pump I went with Jebao DCP-6500 since I control the flow easier. I know you can put a ball valve but I heard these pumps better.. On the skimmer I hope made a wise decision it costed me $250 used which I think was a good deal.

For the return pump went with Jebao DCP-6500 as I can control flow easier. I bought the skimmer for 250 which I think was a good deal. I was debating the Deltec or Lifereef or Reef Octopus. I hope made the right decision.
