Not really. Simply get your skimmer broken in and monitor salinity
A skimmers function is to reduce waste and dissolved inorganics and collect it thereby reducing nitrate and increasing oxygen

My salinity dropped from 1.027 to 1.026 today js that because the skimmer? Im really worried.

May be more due to temperature and/or light
1.037 is a tad high
Aim for 1.025

Who are those people? Stop listening to them! Yes, you have to monitor salinity, but your skimmer is not going to impact your salinity that quickly. Evaporation has more of an effect on salinity than your skimmer. Really where do these ppl. come from? Are they just trying to mess with you?

You will be fine! That little bit will not have any material impact on salinity. It will take weeks to materially drop. I really sought the drop you read was related. To that little skim mate. I set my skimmer really wet emtying it every day and had n martial impact for weeks. I don’t know who would have told you that.

Can you please check the video of the skimmer? Like irs new and i dont know if its functioning properly. The skimmste not reachinf rhe top normal? Its 6 days old.

I looked at it and looks good. You have skimmate in the cup and it’s on the top lid. So obviously it is reaching the top. It should not be pouring over it. Bubbles should slowly make it to the top which looks like exactly what it’s doing. As time goes by you can adjust more or lesss as needed but I like what I see. Keep it up. Good job

It’s still in breakin period and should be in recommended inches of water(usually 6-8”)

Looks good, your tank maybe too new to be pulling significant proteins out. You can turn down the water height and get a bit more dry skim.

Unless you have a 10g tank, it'll take a bit of top off water to lower the salinity.
