My skimmer has stopped skimming after only using it for 6 months [emoji35] so what’s a good alternative to use while I save up some money to get me a new one ? I have a 20 gallon and the only thing I was running was my skimmer and 2 power heads

What brand and did you buy it new? Contact the manufacturer they may replace it for you if it's only 6 months old.

when You say the skimmer broke, does this mean the skimmer pump isn't running? Or not producing any foam?
More details please.

It not producing any foam and it sounds like it’s running but I’ve waited for more then a week and no foam

I'd try contacting Bubble Magus and see what they say. Have you tried adjusting your water level or your air intake? Is it producing bubbles just no skimmate?

Maybe your water is that clean , or you have to dial it in better. Make sure your water level stays constant and it’s at the recommended depth set by the company

Yes I’ve tried adjusting differnet levels and nothing and Giving it a deep cleaning and as far as the bubbles I only see a few or sometimes none

Also make sure the air intake has not plugged up with salt and calcium.

Haven’t cleaned that out I think
Usually when this happens the skimmer overflows the collection cup with saltwater. Being that OP is getting little to no bubbles and no overflow I don't think this is the case, but its still good to check :)

So call the manufacturer to see what they say
