g hi enough to froth over into collector. Anybody got a suggestion? Thnx

Not frothing, bubbling, into over flow collector...?? Help...

Check the air venture inlet (the piece the the hose connects to in front of the pump).

If some sand, dust or salt creep is stuck there, it reduces the air intake to the point it won't bubble well.

I just thought of something, this is a new tank, and is still cycling, could that be why its not frothing/bubbling high enough, could it be because theres no "fish poop" in the water? Its too clean? No laughing! Hahhaha. Im asking because its my first time using a skimmer, and the tank has no fish in it. Just the sand/live rock and biospera.

The bubbles are created by the skimmer. You may not have any skimmate in the cup (the skimmer works by trapping the proteins, which wants to form bubbles, and making it bubble over the top and fall into the cup).

So, you should still have lots of bubbles. Once you have fish poop and other forms of protein, the bubbles become "foamy" and collect in the cup...

Just to clarify, that's salt water you have the skimmer in and not fresh water right?

Mine does that for a while, but it will eventually get higher after you feed your tank. I always set mine at the bottom of the cup.

Ok cycling tank update! Water test kit came today! Whoot whoot! Now i checked my current tank first.20 gall.salt. Ph 8.1/8.2, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 0. Hydrometer, 1.021/1.022. The new tank 45 gall., all the same except hydro at 1.020. Which i assume i fix which a super small water change, and retest.? Right? Fluval carbon only change, rinse with r.o., and skimmer still not skimming what I hoped for, but, that seems to be due to no fish on tank, so no fish poop. Ive been ghost feeding andnused biospera? What u all think... time to drip acclimate my 3 little guys in smaller tank to the new one? Or?... i welcome all feedback. Thankyou so much!
