"Worth" is a difficult descriptor to define for a skimmer. I'm very happy with my Nyos 120. Was the $200 worth it over skimmers? Personally, yes. Waterbox recommended it, so I knew it would work well with my sump setup.

In terms of performance, I doubt the $200 is going to net you more skimmate, or last longer. In the end it's up to you if you want to save that cash and try your luck with a different skimmer. Plenty of people have success with your Bubble Magus example.
