Hello everyone,

Time has come to swap my old skimmer (Tunze 9210) for something newer. I came down to two choices and not sure which direction I should go.
The choices are Cad Lights TIA-1150 and Bubble Magus Curve 7. The reason why I got to these two options are due to sump size... I have a section of 10" x 9" in my sump and I believe these are the only two which will fit.

My tank is a 75G with a 15g sump hosting 2 clowns, one cleaner wrasse, one mcosters wrase, one fairy wrasse, one kole tang and two blue chromis, one peppermint shrimp, one CBS, one blood shrimp and a tiger pistol shrimp with his buddy the sunrise goby. Also I am adding a 15G refugium within the next week once the tank is made which will house a tiger pistol shrimp and goby along with a sandbed/extra liverock and beneficial algae.

Any ideas which would be the better skimmer choice here? Any experiences?

Cheers,

I have a skimz kone skimmer and i love it, the dimensions of the smaller one i think are only 8 x 8 it would be a tight fit but it is a great unit. but you would have to double check the specs to make sure it fits.

Bubble Magus has a better pump and more air intake.
315l/h for the CAD Lights
500l/h for the Magus

Was inclining towards the same skimmer based on the air intake as well. Anyone try any of them?

Haven't heard anything bad about them. But if your leaning towards the Magus, then heres a knock off that works just as well.

Curve 7 arrived yesterday. Hasnt been in sump for 24 hrs yet. Totally impressed. Silent, pulling more in 24 hrs than 4 days worth of old skimmer.

i just ordered a reef octopus diablo xs160. that will fit in the area that you have as well.
