Hello. I'm looking for a skimmer for my 120 gallon tank that will be sps dominate and I have a couple questions. I'm currently looking at 2, a Reef Ocotpus NWB200 or a Reef Octopus Diablo XS 200. First question is, is the Diablo XS worth the extra money? Second question concerns footprint and space required for the skimmers. I'd like to use a 39 gallon tank as the sump. The 39G tank is only 12" wide, but it is deep. Head space isn't a problem as I build my stands tall. I currently have a NWB150 in a 39 gallon sump under my 75G tank, and it was a tight fit. The advertised footprint of the NWB200 and the Diablo is not much larger than for the NWB150, but will they actually fit in that space, or do I need to use a 40 Breeder as the sump? Any other suggestions for a skimmer for this tank, in the price range would be appreciated. Thanks.

Take a look at the Skimz line. I have the SM203 on my 120. Great skimmers with a small footprint. Dead silent, powerful, and consistent.

I'd go with the Reef Octopus Diablo XS 200 if you have the room, the pump difference is worth the $$.
But if you don't have the room, or your worried about the room then possibly look at the Diablo XS 225 Reef. If your stuck on Reef Octopus that is. Its basically the same skimmer, except the pump is under the skimmer and not on the side. More room.

I don't know if I'd say I'm 'stuck' on Reef Octopus, but I have 2 of them and they both perform well. I haven't tried other brands, and I know what to expect from Reef Octopus. Space is a concern, but I can just get a 40 breeder, or better yet a 50 breeder if I could find one.
I haven't found many places that sell the Skimz brand, but all reviews are positive.
