Skimmer cup repair

hi guys I have an Octo Elite 200sss skimmer where the cup detached from the neck.. can you point me to the adhesive/epoxy used so that I can reglue this thing? Nothing is broken just separated so the cup slides up and down the neck.

Super glue would hold that well.

Weld-On 16 would be your best bet.

You could also use #4 if it pushes back together cleanly and capillary action would pull it in. But it is a little trickier to work with.

Thanks but not sure if I trust regular super glue to make a good bond here and keep that nasty skimmate from leaking out of the cup!

Thanks for the suggestions! I think I'll give the Weld-On 16 a try since it states its for PVC to Acrylic bonds. The only issue may be the existing glue since I can't remove it and don't know for sure if the 16 will stick to it..

I'll order a tube and post back the results.

My skimmate cup and my hob skimmer's return flow broke. Super glue both with a fan blowing and let it sit for a couple hours. Works just fine. : )

Super glue could hold it, but the weld-on is a solvent. It basically melts the two pieces and joins them back together.
This is the same stuff that is used for acrylic tank fabrication.

Sorry for the issues you are having and should not have happened. Weldon is your best bet for a clean bond. I would suggest you submit a support ticket at coralvue.com/support with your proof of purchase and see if a replacement can be sent under warranty.

Sorry I must have had notifications off on the post or something but I was able to repair the joint.. first I tried weld-on 16 but the joint leaked so I flooded the joint from underneath with weld-on 16 thinned with some Weld-on #4. This was able to draw in between the parts and form a good tight seal. Better than new?
