skimmer depth question

Ok i got a RO regal 300 int. its recomended depth is 8". my sump runs at 12" depth would there be any harm in running at 12". I only ask this because. I bought a neck cleaner without thinking of height. it wont fit in stand if i put it on skimmer stand to go to 8" depth with cleaner attached.

Could you run your sump an inch or two lower to decrease the difference between 8" & 12"?

If not you should be able to get it working by tweaking the adjustment on the skimmer. This hobby involves lots of fiddling and testing. I'm sure you can get it working well with a little trial and error.

When I did my sump I had made a mistake with depth and the skimmer kept overflowing. Even wide open. Had to cut down the baffles and run it in the recommended heights

You can always build an egg crate platform.

I got a platform and the baffles sent adjustable. I'll try it and if I can't get it to work ditch it. And someone will get them a brand new cleaner cheap
