Skimmer depth

OK so I'm up late cleaning my sump I've broke my skimmer stand.Its only bringing it up one inch.can I just let my skimmer sit a little deep instead of dealing with a stand!!??

The water height will be increased in the body so it may be too high and tend to overflow the cup.

Check your manual in regards to you skimmer , the higher the level of water the skimmer run less efficient buy not having enough room to aerate the water before traveling up the neck of the skimmer.
