So more often when you dislike something via a feeling in your gut there is usually a good reason.

For the last year I have not been a fan of my Skimz skimmer. While I away (of course, right?) it failed. It is flashing some error code on the DC pump controller. This is the second time that I have a pump issue with this skimmer. Guess what I am done! I am currently in the market for a new skimmer.... I would like to order something soonish since.... I am without a skimmer.

Here is the criteria I need to hit....
Size can not by larger than 8in wide by 13in
Tank is 120 with 40 gallons of water underneath
Wherry on DC due to skimz BUT not against it.

As of right now there are a few options:

Nyos Quantum 160 - $450 via TBAquatics

Reef Octopus Regal 150sss - $500 via BRS

Bubble Magus Curve 7 - $ 290 via Amazon

AquaC EV-180 - $306 via MarineAndReef with coupon

What do you all think?

The honest truth is anyone that has one of those is going to justify their purchase and recommend theirs. At the end of the day bubbles are bubbles and scientificly remove about 30% efficient. Each of those will work as good as the next within 5%. I'd buy the one with the best pump, as replacing that is where the cost will be. Which honestly probably wouldn't be any of those. My skimmer with the sicce psk pinwheel works the best from my experience.

NYOS Quantum 160 - just read the videos/reviews. And yes I have one. Silent and works like a charm but the reviews speak for themselves.
