skimmer difficulties red sea max 250

New to saltwater had this tank going on a month. Bought used fully stocked and the only thing that puzzles me is this darn skimmer. Cant get a constant foam. I get it to where if lightly foams into cup then i check an hour later and its either barely foaming or foaming over. Any advice is appreciated getting alittle frustrated. Thanks

What kind of skimmer do you have? Generally speaking, certain brands/types of skimmers can be finicky.

Its the stock skimmer. After some more research think i have a better understanding thks

I have the 130d I noticed the same sometimes I get foam sometimes I don't. I always get foam after a water change or when I clean the bed. I recently did the InTank media basket and Tunze upgrade its quieter seems a bit better and I still have foam every now and then it's not constant... Could be a good thing.
Congrats on the tank!!! Wish I went bigger!
